OP, your race probably does cost you, as it does me (I’m Asian). The step that we need to get over is to recognize that and accept it and tell ourselves, Okay, this is the way it is. What are we going to do about it? At that point we can get out of the victimhood mentality and start dealing with it practically. Because there’s nothing you or I can do to change society as a whole. All we can do is work on ourselves — both our attitudes toward ourselves and the world, and on how we present ourselves to that world.

I haven’t lived there, but I agree with Moxie and some of the other posters that Boston is probably a more racially prejudiced city than other cities of its size. I don’t know your citizenship status, so moving may not be an option, but you’re 27 and may want to experience other cities and regions before you permanently settle down.
