The reasoning behind the claim of men getting lazy and having too many choices just comes from women thinking there’s such a vast surplus of great women and thinking there’s just so few good ones. Pretty much the same “I’m fabulous so anybody similar to me is fabulous also”. It’s the same regular girls over valuing themselves.
Any guy that doesn’t have somebody or isn’t chasing after them, especially if they find him desirable, they will ration that it’s impossible that it’s due to not having any good women to be with. It has to be a choice to be single because there’s just so many good women.

I commented much the same some weeks back. I live in a majority-black town, and this is my long experience. I also see it in poor white communities, but it seems more pronounced in blacks. The average black male is more athletically built than the average white male, and the average black woman is fatter than the average white woman. At the low end of SES, this produces a pretty crazy cluster effect.
